In conjunction with the company's upcoming 20th anniversary, TOP's Parrot Food will be introducing an exciting new lineup of bag designs for its USDA Organic Certified pellets. The new bags are expected to be available in March, 2023. 

The fun, colorful and creative new designs highlight the growth and evolution of the TOP's brand worldwide, plus make it easier for you to select the correct pellet sizes for your birds. Each bag displays a flock of birds that would traditionally eat that size of pellet. The bright, cheerful palette means you can easily differentiate between the pellet sizes. You will see the words Large, Small and Mini prominently displayed on the front, back and bottom of the bags. 

The new bags will be available for both 1 lb. and 4 lb. pellet bags. The 10 lb. pellet bags and the company's seed mixes will be switching to white bags and may be redesigned in the future. 

Here are a few questions and answers regarding the new bags:

Did you change the pellets or the formula when you changed the bags?

No, the pellet formula is exactly the same as always. The pellets are still made the same way with the same ingredients with the same recipe. They are just in new packaging. You will see that some of the ingredients are described with new terminology in the ingredients list. This is because the ingredients description conforms to the latest Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) requirements for pet food. For example, alfalfa is now listed on the new bags as sun cured alfalfa meal, but be assured that the alfalfa is the exact same alfalfa that we have always used in the recipe. We worked closely with AAFCO officials to make sure the ingredients list conforms to all requirements. 

Are the pellets still USDA Organic Certified?

Yes, the pellets are still USDA Organic Certified. The new bag designs were approved by our certifier, the Oregon Department of Agriculture. We worked  with ODA to make sure all of the necessary USDA requirements were met for the new packaging. The word "Organic" is proudly displayed at the top of each bag.

What happened to the 3 lb. and 12 oz. Small Pellet bags?

The Small Pellets are now available in 4 lb. and 1 lb. bags to match the bag sizes of the Mini and Large pellets. 

When will the new bags be available?

The new pellet bags will be rolling out in Q1 2023 to our U.S. and worldwide partners. Look for them by March 2023.

Where did the oxygen pack go?

With our new production technology, the oxygen packs that were in our previous 4 lb. and 1 lb. pellet bags have been replaced by nitrogen to keep the pellets fresh and shelf stable. 

The bags look different. Are they bigger in size?

Yes, the new stand up pouches are slightly taller and wider than our previous bags. They still have the resealable zipper seal to maintain freshness after the bag is opened. 

Where is the Best By date on the new bags?

The Best By date is now printed on the bottom of the bags rather than the top of the bags. 

Can I still get the old pellet bags?

No, the old Gold, Silver and White pellet bags will no longer be available after the new bag designs are introduced to the market.
